Caring Community with the Honor Code

Do you know what a caring community looks like? See the pictures posted hear. Caring communities listen, share and care about each other. We had trouble with the sharing part with the couches at first but we now don't mind who we sit with. Do you know what the honor code looks like? We attempted to give a visual representation of the Trinity Honor Code on "canvas". We focused on the six main themes which are:
  • Be responsible for my actions
  • Always do my best as an individual and as a part of a team
  • Respect the uniqueness and gifts of others
  • Practice kindness and consideration
  • Celebrate the joyful, beautiful and enduring
  • Not lie, cheat or steal
This k group has proved so far that they not only know the honor code, they live into it as well.

Start of the year/Retreat

The Thornton Koinonia (AKA The Hogdorks) is off to a great start. We had a blast together in Blowing Rock at the middle school retreat. It was amazing to see how quickly they all formed as a team with such great chemistry. This is a fantastic group full of leaders and team players. I have included a few pictures from the trip and one from the Koinonia Olympics. Look forward to seeing many more posts as time passes and hopefully that will come from the students not just me.
